If you are a beginning dancer, or someone that really wants to take their dancing to a higher level, then this site is for you! Remember,  Members have access to EVERYTHING that we do!  All dances are broken down, step by step, available to you whenever you want to practice. I know how frustrating it can be to try and remember what you learned in dance class, go home and want to practice and then find out a week later that you have practiced it all wrong! Don't let that happen to you! You can now download and view Night Club and Country Two Step to your computer and watch them full screen. West Coast Swing is coming soon!

Tuesday Night Class Videos, Wednesday Night Class Videos, The Ballroom Workshop Re-Caps, and The Borderline Re-Caps.

Hope all is well and sunny in your worlds.

Happy Dancing,

Tip Of The Week
 Dance Off the Turkey Pounds

Thanksgiving week has passed and I know that I ate too much, so I though that it would be appropriate to share a few  Health Benefits of dance.

Dancing, aside from being a fun and enjoyable social event, is also very beneficial in many ways. Did you know that dancing:

- increases body coordination
- helps control your speed and balance
- increases your flexibility and stamina
- benefits your cardiovascular system
- contributes to good posture and body alignment
- encourages gentle stretching
- boosts your confidence

Did you know that a 150 lb. person burns 330 calories in one hour and that the average Thanksgiving Dinner is over 4500 calories!! That's at least 2,000 extra calories for the day. To burn off those extra calories would require about 6 hours of dancing, which sounds like a lot more fun than exercising!

For more detailed information regarding the health benefits of dance just click here: dsjalgkjls

In my opinion the most important benefit you will receive is that heart-warming feeling that comes from dancing. The connection with your dance partner, the beautiful music, and the body movement is something everybody should experience.

                                  The Gift of Dance
                                                                 by Michele Rasmussen

Yes, Christmas is right around the corner and I must say that one of the greatest gifts that I have ever given myself is the gift of dance.(of course, that falls in line after the obvious blessings in my life: God, family, health, freedom, etc.)

This gift I would  like to share with others. For those of you that already have it, you know exactly what I am talking about. Dancers', do you realize that when you dance with a beginner, or someone that has less experienced than you, you are sharing your gift with them. Your encouragement and patience will brighten their day. For those of you that have never danced, I implore you to give it a try. It will be frustrating at first, but hang in there, you cannot imagine how dance will change your life.

It does not matter how difficult my day was, how many times "Murphy" followed me around and tripped me up or how many things still on my list that still need attending to, all it takes to brighten my day, are the words, "You want to go dancing?" As soon as the music begins, and my body starts to move, all of the stress and frustrations of the day are completely forgotten. You see, dancing brings peace and joy to your soul. It will lift you up and make your heart sing!

So, if you are home with the kids all day, or maybe tending to an ill or aging loved one, or just simply overwhelmed with life in general, I challenge you to get out there and dance! Take a few hours a week, just for you.

There are many places that offer free dance lessons. Group lessons are available at local recreation centers and dance studios. If you feel intimidated by those options, or just find that you need the reinforcement from your classes, please check out our website: www.learntoballroomdanceonline.com It is our desire to bring the joy of dancing to everyone that can walk and fog a mirror!
