someone that really wants to take their dancing to a higher level, then
this site is for you! Remember, Members
have access to EVERYTHING that we do! All dances are broken
down, step by step,
available to you whenever you want to practice. I know how frustrating
it can be to try and remember what you learned in dance class, go home
and want to practice and then find out a week later that you have
practiced it all wrong! Don't let that happen to you! You can now download and view Night Club and Country Two Step to your computer
and watch them full screen. West Coast Swing is coming soon!
Tuesday Night Class Videos, Wednesday Night Class Videos, The Ballroom Workshop Re-Caps, and
The Borderline Re-Caps.
Hope all is well and sunny in your worlds.
Life Is not Always
you look around, chances are that you can almost always find someone in
worse shape than you are. I know I am sick and tired of dealing with
the aftermath of Cipro Poisoning, but I also know that I am very
fortunate to be able to walk at all, let alone dance.
The economy is in the toilet and many have lost their jobs and homes.
People are sick and dying and living with the loss of someone they
love. Some sleep on the streets and go to bed hungry...I could go on
and on with the reality and harshness of life, but instead I am just
going to share one of my favorite says with you:
Life Is Not About
Waiting for the Storm to Pass, It is About
Learning to Dance in the
My Grand Daughter: Rain in Phoenix in
Key Elements in Learning to
Have you ever felt as though there is something wrong with your body or
brain when it comes to learning to dance? Well, you are not alone.
While some people are blessed with natural grace and co-ordination,
others of us are not. When you watch proficient dancers dance, they
make it look so easy. You think to yourself, "I could do that". Then
you step out onto the dance floor for the first time and you feel as
though you have two left feet and your brain has gone to mush. Your
arms and hands have a life of their own and cannot follow the direction
of the instructor.
Do not despair. As long as you possess two key elements, you can learn
to dance. Those two key elements are desire and passion. To learn to
dance you must have the desire and passion to learn to do so.
You won't become a beautiful dancer overnight, but if you stick with it
and practice, you will in time become a dancer.
Take baby steps. Put one foot in front of the other and move your body.
Now try and do it like a dancer. Place your feet purposefully on the
floor. Try to move with the grace and elegance that you see other
dancers achieving. Do this over and over until you feel comfortable.
Your dance movement will eventually become second nature. This takes
time and practice.
When you are a brand new dancer there will be a whole lot of detail
coming out of the instructor's mouth. Do not even attempt to understand
everything that he/she is saying. Your brain is only capable of a
certain amount of information at one time. Months may go by and you
will suddenly hear something as though you have never heard it before,
even though the instructor has said the same thing, week after week.
This is normal. You are not alone. There is a learning process in
dancing just like any other "new" hobby that you may have tried.
Learning to dance will not happen overnight, but as long as you see
improvement from week to week and continue to have the desire to learn,
then you will be on your way to Waltzing across the dance floor in no
time at all!
